About this car
This 1937 Delahaye 135 carries one-off aluminium coupé coachwork by Argentina's Rodolfo Iriarte, drawn from the great streamlined French coupés of the 1930s, including the Bugatti Type 57 Atlantic and Aérolithe. The long bonnet, enclosed rear wheels, teardrop cabin and centre spine give it a character quite different from the usual French coachbuilt 135.
Under the body it remains largely Delahaye. The chassis keeps its original longitudinal rails, and power comes from a genuine Type 103 straight-six, developed with triple carburettors, six exhaust outlets and a modified camshaft. Steering, front suspension and braking components are also original Delahaye.
Chassis 48147 spent its early life in Argentina before coming to Britain in 1996, where it stayed with one owner, the antiques dealer Ken Bolan, for thirty years. Radford Restorations of Windsor completed a restoration in 2024. The car was shown at Heveningham Concours that year and at Concours des Légendes at Wilton House in 2026. It is right-hand drive and shows 43,750 miles. Price is on application.
