This 1985 Caterham Super 7 began life as a period promotional car for the company, then was extensively rebuilt in 2019 and 2020 by Team Leos Motorsport. The work is said to have cost around £20,000 and left little of the original car unchanged.
The rebuild centres on a new wide-track chassis from Arch and a crate 2.0-litre Ford Zetec, with a gas-flowed head, Piper cams and Weber 45 DCOE carburettors for roughly 200 bhp. It is paired with a new Elite five-speed sequential gearbox, a De Dion rear axle with limited-slip differential and fully adjustable suspension with four-pot front brakes. The new body panels are painted in Gulf Racing colours.
The spec is aimed at track use: FIA-compliant roll bar, fitted fire system, race seat with five-point harness and a digital dash. It has covered 982 miles since the rebuild and comes with a spare set of wheels, body panels and wings. MOT runs to October 2027.
