2024 Caterham Seven 420R
£49,995
About this car
Caterham's 420R is the Seven at its most focused without tipping into full track-car territory. It pairs the 2.0-litre Ford Duratec four-cylinder with a five-speed manual, a limited-slip differential and a chassis tuned for road and circuit use, in a car weighing well under 600 kg. Output of roughly 210 bhp against that mass delivers supercar-level acceleration, with the unfiltered steering and throttle response the model is known for.
This 2024 example is an S3-chassis car, the wider-bodied and more road-friendly of the two Seven layouts, with a little more cockpit room than the narrower SV. It has covered just 1,263 miles, so it is barely run in and still close to showroom condition. The 420R sits near the top of the standard range, above the 360 and below the more extreme 620 series, which makes it a good balance of usable power and manageable running costs.
It is offered through Caterham Silverstone at £49,995. That is a premium over a new-build 420R once options are counted, which reflects the low mileage and the saving on build-slot waiting time.
