2023 BMW M3 Competition xDrive
£57,950
About this car
The G80 M3 Competition is the car that finally made peace with the idea of xDrive. M xDrive is rear-biased and can be switched into 2WD, and here it pairs the 503 bhp twin-turbo 3.0-litre straight-six with an eight-speed Steptronic gearbox. That combination gives a claimed 0-62 mph time of 3.5 seconds and a limited top speed of 155 mph, with 649 lb-ft of torque on tap.
This 2023 example is finished in Skyscraper Grey and has covered 25,460 miles. The spec is well chosen. It has the Technology Plus Pack, Visibility Pack with laser headlights, Comfort Pack and Parking Assistant Plus with adaptive cruise and a 360-degree camera. Forged M Double Spoke 825 wheels measure 19 inches at the front and 20 inches at the rear, finished in Orbit Grey Matt. M Brakes with black calipers are fitted, and the cabin has Extended Merino bicolour leather in Black and Silverstone, a heated steering wheel and a drive recorder.
The Competition xDrive is the more usable end of the G80 range. It has all-weather traction, a proper boot and four doors, and it is still quick enough to embarrass most supercars of a decade ago. At this mileage and with this much factory equipment, it is a sensible way into the current M3.
