Alpina Roadster V8

The BMW Alpina Roadster V8 is the final chapter of the E52 Z8 story — a 555-unit limited collaboration built in 2002 that replaced the standard car's S62 engine and six-speed manual with Alpina's own 4.8-litre V8 paired to a ZF five-speed automatic. With approximately 450 examples destined for the US market, UK-registered examples are genuinely rare, and this Titanium Silver car was imported and formally registered in Britain in 2018.

At 7,169 miles from new across more than two decades, this is effectively a time-capsule example. Alpina's cabin treatment distinguishes it clearly from the donor Z8: Nappa leather with Alpina-specific piping and logos, matching dials, Alpina steering wheel, and a set of 20-inch Alpina alloys that add a touch more presence to the already dramatic bodywork. Critically, both the colour-matched hard-top and the black soft-top are included — a complete presentation that's increasingly hard to find.

The character shift from the manual Z8 is significant: the automatic gearbox and softer suspension tune nudge this firmly into grand tourer territory, and that is precisely the point. Z8 values have risen steadily for years; the Alpina variant's compounded rarity — fewer than 105 non-US cars produced — means it occupies a distinct tier above the standard car in collector circles.
