This 1937 Derby Bentley 4¼ Litre is one of only 200 'M' Series overdrive cars built. It has the high-ratio rear axle, which gives it long-legged cruising at modern road speeds, so it suits rallies and long-distance touring.
The car is no longer a Mulliner saloon. In 1978 it was re-bodied with a two-seater drophead coupé in aluminium to a James Young design. The original Mulliner two-door saloon coachwork was worn out and was replaced. The new body has a sweeping tail and a fastback profile with the hood down, and the black canvas hood stows in the boot or behind the seats. The paint is two-tone mid blue over dark blue, with black leather, black carpets and a recently refinished wooden dashboard.
The engine was fully overhauled and rebuilt by marque specialists Ristes of Nottingham about 13,000 miles ago. The car comes with extensive records covering regular servicing over recent decades. The page gives no current odometer reading.

The maker’s official figures for this model, not measurements of this car (Engine layout from Bentley/Rolls-Royce Derby chassis specs; Rolls-Royce never published power, and coachbuilt bodies mean no factory weight or performance figures. Note: the overdrive MR series dates from 1938–39, not 1937.).
£125,000 since it was listed on 5 November 2026. No changes yet.
