2009 Audi R8 V8
£59,950
About this car
The first-generation Audi R8 in its most sought-after form: a naturally aspirated 4.2-litre V8, an open-gate six-speed manual and quattro all-wheel drive, wrapped in a lightweight aluminium structure. Most buyers chose the R tronic automated gearbox when new, which makes manual cars like this one considerably harder to find now. With 420 bhp, 317 ft-lb and a 187 mph top speed, it remains properly quick, but the appeal lies in how directly it involves the driver.
This 2009 example is finished in Brilliant Red over black leather and has covered 20,659 miles. It was ordered with the options that matter on an early R8: Audi Magnetic Ride, a Bang & Olufsen sound system and Carbon Sigma sideblades and interior inlays, with 19-inch five-arm double-spoke wheels in a titanium finish. Satellite navigation, LED headlights, heated and electrically adjustable seats and front and rear parking sensors round out the equipment.
The history is a strong point. The car has 14 Audi main dealer service stamps, 13 of them from the supplying dealer, Audi Southampton. It is UK supplied and comes with both the original exhaust and a Larini valved system, giving the next owner the choice between factory manners and a louder V8 soundtrack.
