About this car
This is the second of just three newly built Atalantas, a revival of the short-lived Middlesex marque that built only 22 cars before the war. It was the company's press car, so it appears widely in Atalanta's own promotional material.
The car is built in the period manner, with alloy panelling over an ash frame and bespoke componentry, some of it designed in CAD and stainless steel printed. Power comes from a Ford-sourced four-cylinder engine with revised cams, variable valve timing and a heavy flywheel, giving 200 bhp and 215 lb ft. It drives through a five-speed Borg Warner manual gearbox in an Atalanta aluminium casing. Steering is unassisted rack and pinion, and the suspension is fully independent.
It is finished in black over British Racing Green leather and is right-hand drive. The page gives no mileage or registration.
