The V550 was the hand-built, twin-supercharged peak of the Newport Pagnell Vantage, with 550 bhp from its 5.3-litre V8 and only around 240 made. This one has the less common automatic gearbox.
It was ordered new through Aston Martin Sales in Mayfair for the Brunei Royal Family. After a pre-delivery inspection at Aston Martin Works in March 1998 it went to Brunei, where it was used sparingly. It is a UK right-hand-drive specification car in Pentland Green metallic, with tan leather piped in Forest Green, a tan headlining and Fir Green carpets. The odometer shows 4,750 miles.
The current owner bought it in 2017 and brought it back to the UK. The page states that recommissioning cost more than £50,000. It included a full rebuild of the twin superchargers and an overhaul of the cooling system, heat shields, suspension bushes and hoses. Genuine Aston Martin Works parts were used, with invoices above £10,000.
