Aston Martin Vanquish

The Vanquish was the last Aston Martin built by hand at Newport Pagnell, and Ian Callum's design grew out of the 1998 Project Vanquish concept. It uses a bonded carbon fibre, composite and aluminium structure with hand-shaped aluminium panels, and is powered by a 5,935cc V12 making 460 bhp. This car is unusual in having a six-speed manual gearbox, rather than the more common automated paddle-shift.

The main point of interest is the Sports Dynamic Pack, fitted by Aston Martin Works Service at Newport Pagnell soon after first registration at a cost of more than £20,000. It brings uprated S-specification dampers, springs, uprights, steering rack, hubs, calipers and discs, plus lightweight magnesium wheels. More recent work includes a Vanquish S clutch and flywheel assembly.

It is finished in Racing Green over a Parchment leather interior with suede headlining, and shows 20,000 miles from four keepers. The history file lists 14 Aston Martin main dealer service stamps, invoices for work carried out, past MOTs, the original books and keys, and paperwork for an extended Aston Martin Works warranty.
