1974 Aston Martin V8 RS Williams Fast Road
£169,950
About this car
The 1974 Aston Martin V8 is one of the most significant survivors of the David Brown era — a hand-built grand tourer whose character sits apart from any of its more polished successors. This example has undergone a full body-off restoration to RS Williams' 'Fast Road' specification, with mechanical work by RS Williams and body and interior work completed by Auto Audio in London. The restoration was finished in 2017 and extensively documented with a photographic record, and the car has since covered approximately 4,500 miles of its 58,000-mile total, maintained exclusively by RS Williams with annual service history throughout.
The heart of the build is an RS Williams 5.7-litre engine conversion — a high-compression, balanced and blueprinted unit with gas-flowed heads, performance camshafts, and upgraded carburation and ignition. Output is approximately 400 bhp with substantially increased torque across the range, transforming the driving experience while preserving the unmistakable sound and character of the Aston V8. The chassis has been upgraded in parallel: uprated dampers and springs, improved bushings, performance braking, and a Series 4 hub and wheel conversion that adds the more muscular stance associated with the later 1980s cars.
Finished in Silver Metallic (Ascot Grey) over blue leather with tartan carpets — a period-correct and distinctive combination — the car is accompanied by an Aston Martin Vehicle Heritage Certificate confirming its provenance as an early production example. For a buyer wanting a usable, fully sorted classic with genuine specialist pedigree, this represents one of the more credible RS Williams builds available in the current market.
