Aston Martin DB9

The DB9 Volante was Aston Martin's open-top grand tourer for over a decade, and this 2016 car is among the last built before the DB11 replaced the platform entirely. With just 17,726 miles recorded across ten years — roughly 1,700 miles annually — it has clearly led a careful, low-intensity life. The naturally aspirated 5.9-litre V12 produces 510 bhp and 606 lb-ft of torque through Aston's Touchtronic II automatic, returning a claimed 183 mph maximum and a 4.6-second 0–62 time.

The options list is well-considered. The Exterior Carbon Package and black calipers give the exterior a purposeful edge without disrupting the DB9's classically proportioned lines, while 20-inch alloys complete the look. Inside, Bang & Olufsen BeoSound audio, heated front seats with fine contrast stitching, and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror are appropriate GT accompaniments. A reversing camera and rear parking sensors handle the practical side.

As a late-production DB9, this car carries real significance: the DB11 introduced a twin-turbocharged V12, ending the naturally aspirated unit's run in this platform after more than a decade. The free-revving character and sound of the old engine cannot be replicated by its successor. At this mileage and with this level of specification, it represents a genuinely usable example of a model that is already being looked at with collector interest.
