Ariel Atom 4R

A 2024 (74) Ariel Atom 4R with just 2,005 miles and one owner from new — one of a small handful built of Ariel's most extreme road-legal Atom to date. The 4R takes the familiar 2.0-litre turbocharged Honda K20C1 and, via uprated turbo internals, revised cooling and a bespoke ECU calibration, pushes output to 400bhp in a car weighing comfortably under 600kg. Crucially, this example is fitted with the 6-speed Sadev sequential gearbox with pneumatic paddle shift (£13,500), 7-stage traction and launch control (£2,100) and the full 12-stage adjustable ABS system (£11,940) — the three options that transform the 4R from a raw track weapon into something usable.

The options list reads like a factory order sheet ticked in its entirety. Öhlins TTX three-way adjustable dampers with remote wishbones, AP Racing four-pot calipers on 290mm two-piece discs, carbon fibre wheels shod in Yokohama A052 tyres, and an extensive carbon package covering the front and rear aero, airbox, bonnet, mudguards, lamp covers and instrument panel. Individual carbon seats, plumbed-in fire extinguisher, quick-release wheel, track day lap timing and a satin black powder-coated chassis complete a specification totalling well over £50,000 in options alone.

Low-mileage 4Rs to this specification rarely surface. With one careful owner and a build sheet that leaves virtually nothing on the table, this is as close to a definitive Atom 4R as the configurator allows.
