About this car
The CS was Amilcar's first properly sporting model of the mid-1920s, a light, lively French car often nicknamed a "poor man's Bugatti". This one, chassis 9175, carries Duval torpedo coachwork with the staggered seating that reflects the period's competition influence.
It was first supplied to the UK and registered YN 16, was in Malaya by 1930, later lived in Singapore, and eventually returned to Europe. It has been in a private collection since 2014. The car is titled 1928, though it is described as a 1925 car.
The engine has been rebuilt and the car has been mechanically recommissioned, with an older restoration behind it. It uses a Solex sidedraft carburettor, a three-speed manual gearbox and four-wheel mechanical drum brakes. It comes with its original generator, windscreen and cowl, plus Brooklands-style racing screens. The price is on application.
