About this car
Offered in Silver Birch Metallic over black leather, this 1964 DB5 is a Touring Superleggera-bodied car that has been through a comprehensive restoration. Pugsley & Lewis completed the work between 2016 and 2019 at a stated cost of £370,000, so the car is presented as a freshly rebuilt example rather than an unrestored survivor. Silver Birch is among the most sought-after colours on the model, and it suits the DB5's lines.
The car was supplied new in the UK through Cyril Williams Motors Ltd of Wolverhampton and has had three owners from new. A substantial history file accompanies it, along with the original DB5 booklets. The odometer shows 48,000 miles.
The specification has some sensible updates aimed at making a 1960s grand tourer easier to live with. It has a ZF five-speed manual gearbox in place of the original four-speed, an upgraded alloy radiator and cooling fan, and electronic power-assisted steering. A heated rear window is also fitted. These changes address the usual weak points of heat and heavy low-speed steering, while the car keeps its original character and the Tadek Marek straight-six that defined it.
